American singer Taylor Swift topped the list of celebrities whose private jets produced the largest amount of carbon dioxide this year. A study conducted by the sustainable marketing company "Yard" revealed that Swift's jet flew 170 times during the current year from January 1 to July 19, amounting to nearly 16 days in the air. The study indicated that the total emissions from Taylor Swift's flights were 8,293.54 tons of carbon, which is 1,184.8 times higher than the average annual emissions of an individual, according to "Hollywood Reporter."
In response, a spokesperson for the American singer stated that "Taylor's plane is regularly lent to other individuals, and attributing most or all of these flights to her is grossly inaccurate." For the study, Yard used data from the Twitter account Celeb Jets, which tracks the private jet flights of celebrities. The data collected from the beginning of 2022 included the number of flights each star took, average flight times, miles flown, and total carbon dioxide emissions.
