Egyptian star Mohamed Salah began his Premier League journey with Chelsea in 2014, but he struggled to establish himself as a key player under coach Mourinho. He was loaned to Fiorentina before making a permanent move to Roma in 2016.
Current Flamengo player and former Chelsea star Filipe Luis spoke about training alongside his former Chelsea teammate Mohamed Salah, now a Liverpool star, and compared him to Barcelona captain Lionel Messi, despite the negative period in London. Luis said, "I suffered against Salah in training, pfff, in training he was like Messi. Really, like Messi. Ask anyone."
He added, "When Salah decided to go to Fiorentina, I asked him, 'Why are you going there, Momo? You're at Chelsea.' But he told me he needed to play." The former Atletico Madrid player continued, "I told myself that this player is good; he never left for money, but to prove he could play more."
It is worth noting that Filipe Luis left Chelsea after just one season and returned to Atletico Madrid, as he struggled to adapt to Chelsea. He currently plays for Flamengo in the Brazilian league.
