Crime Shocks Egypt: Mother Dragged and Strangled by Son

In a tragic crime that shook the city of Mahalla in Gharbia Governorate, northern Egypt, a medical doctor killed his mother by strangulation due to family disputes.

In detail, Major General Hani Oweis, the Director of Gharbia Security, received a report about the death of a woman named "M. N," aged 59. According to investigations, the victim, a homemaker, was strangled by her son "M. B," aged 39, who is a medical doctor, because of family problems.

It was also revealed that the killer suffers from psychological disorders and mumbles incomprehensible words, frequently assaulting his parents. Eyewitnesses told "Al Arabiya.net" that the killer dragged his mother and then strangled her; neighbors heard her screams, and when they arrived at the scene, she was taking her last breaths.

The witnesses added that the accused also attempted to assault his father and chased him with a knife, yet people managed to restrain him and save the father from death. They were able to tie the killer's hands until the police arrived and arrested him.

Authorities have transferred the mother's body to Mahalla General Hospital, while the prosecution has taken over the investigation into the crime. The prosecution has also ordered the police to uncover the circumstances of the incident following the autopsy of the mother's body and has permitted her burial.
