The number of victims from the toxic gas leak at the Jordanian port of Aqaba has risen to 10 deaths and 251 injuries. The police issued an urgent warning to Aqaba residents to close their windows and stay indoors. The "Petra" agency reported from the spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate that "specialists and the hazardous materials team from the Civil Defense are still dealing with the gas leak incident at the port of Aqaba." It was noted that, so far, there have been 10 deaths and 251 injuries, and efforts are ongoing to handle the situation with several patients in hospitals. The agency previously reported from the spokesperson that "during routine operations at the port of Aqaba today, a tanker filled with toxic gas fell during transportation, leading to a gas leak at the site." The spokesperson added that "the area was immediately isolated, and specialists began addressing the incident, while the Civil Defense transported several injured individuals to the hospital, all of whom are receiving treatment."
