The Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, announced after a Cabinet session, "We have been informed by the World Bank of its approval for an emergency loan to support Lebanon in purchasing wheat and securing bread for the citizens. This loan is favorable and serves as a safety net for the community." He clarified that "the aim of the World Bank loan is to secure wheat, maintain the price of the bread loaf, and regulate and distribute wheat in Lebanon." He added, "We hope that the new Parliament will begin studying the draft law that the government will submit, as the wheat issue is urgent and vital."
