Security sources revealed to the Kuwaiti newspaper "Al-Rai" that a seizure of captagon has thwarted the smuggling of 7 million drug pills hidden among bags of spices, with an estimated value of 11 million dinars. The shipment arrived from Pakistan after departing from Syria, and the large quantity was intended for distribution to some Gulf countries, with Kuwait receiving 7 million pills.
It was noted that the identities of two suspects have been established; one is of Gulf nationality and the other of Arab nationality, and a search is ongoing for them. It was mentioned that the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Anwar Al-Barjas, supervised the inspection and seizure of three containers containing the confiscated items that arrived at Shuwaikh Port, according to a statement from the General Administration of Relations and Security Media.
Al-Barjas called on drug enforcement officers to "enhance their readiness and dedication in performing their duties and to utilize all resources to pursue and monitor drug traffickers to protect youth from the scourge of drugs." According to the statement, during the activities of the General Administration for Drug Control, investigations indicated an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotic substances and psychoactive substances into the country. Investigations revealed that "the drugs were hidden in three containers filled with food items coming from an Asian country." After the necessary investigations and confirming the validity of the information, a legal permit was obtained from the Public Prosecution to search the containers in cooperation with the General Administration of Customs.
