A report published by the World Bank in May 2022 indicated that India, Mexico, China, the Philippines, and Egypt were among the largest recipients of remittances in 2021. Egypt ranked first in the Arab world within the Middle East and North Africa region, with remittances amounting to $31.5 billion, followed by Morocco with $10.4 billion. Lebanon ranked third, with remittances totaling $6.6 billion in 2021. Jordan occupied the fourth position, with remittances last year amounting to $3.6 billion.
