U.S. Senate Set to Approve $40 Billion Aid for Ukraine

Reuters has reported that the U.S. Senate voted to grant Ukraine an additional $40 billion in aid to support its fight against Russia, paving the way for a potential vote on the bill later this week. This follows a halt in military and humanitarian aid due to opposition from a Republican senator. The vote passed with 81 in favor and 11 against and is the first of three potential procedural votes that would lead to the Senate passing the funding requested by President Joe Biden's administration to ensure continued aid to the Kyiv government, nearly three months after the start of the Russian operation.
