The Minister of Economy and Trade in the caretaker government, Amin Salam, pointed out that what we are witnessing today in the flour crisis is a consequence of what occurred last month. He expressed hope that the ships would arrive faster than before, emphasizing that the crisis is a result of wheat being stolen from the country. In an interview with MTV, Salam stated, "There is a crisis cell headed by the Ministry of Economy to distribute wheat and flour fairly, and we have changed the previous mechanism." He added that 49,000 tons of wheat will enter the country by the end of this week and that there should be no more queues afterward, asserting that they will pursue anyone trying to create a crisis.
