Klopp: What the Leicester City Player Did to Salah Affected Him

Liverpool's German manager Jürgen Klopp stated that he noticed what a Leicester City player did to Mohamed Salah before he took the penalty against Leicester, which might have impacted him. Salah missed a penalty after fifteen minutes into the match, which ended in a 1-0 defeat for Liverpool against Leicester City in the 20th round of the English Premier League.

According to "Liverpool Echo," Klopp said in press statements after the match, "It was an extremely strange game; we weren't good enough." He added, "We played very poorly, so it was a deserved win for them." Regarding Salah's missed penalty, Klopp confirmed: "James Maddison (the Leicester City player) was definitely talking to him while he took the penalty, but everyone does that."

He continued, "Salah usually scores in these situations, and tonight he didn't." He concluded by saying, "Salah is part of the team, and the entire team wasn't in form."

It is worth noting that following the loss, English newspapers discussed the action of Leicester City player James Maddison towards Mohamed Salah before he took the penalty. The midfielder Maddison was seen standing closely behind Mohamed Salah, whispering something in the Egyptian winger's ear before he executed the penalty in the first half, seemingly in an attempt to distract him, which appeared to succeed.

With this loss, Liverpool remained at 41 points in second place, trailing six points behind the leaders Manchester City.
