Russia Stops Gas Flow to Europe via Nord Stream-1

Russia has shut down the Nord Stream-1 gas pipeline to Europe for maintenance from July 11 to July 21. This action coincides with concerns in the European market that it could exacerbate the gas shortage in Europe. Earlier, the "Novosti" agency confirmed that if the gas volumes flowing through Nord Stream-1 are not replaced through alternative methods, Europe may face a sharp increase in "blue fuel" prices. It added that it is impossible to replace the entire quantity, as Ukraine has restricted the entry of Russian gas for transit due to force majeure, and counter sanctions against Russia prohibit the use of "Yamal-Europe" via Poland. Some countries, including Germany and Austria, have expressed concerns that supplies through the pipeline after the maintenance may decrease or stop.
