The Federation of Chambers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has issued a circular to restaurants and cafes to change the name "Arabic Coffee" to "Saudi Coffee." The Federation emphasized the necessity of adhering to the new name in the product listings presented as a brand, as reported by the "Sabq" news site. Thamer Al-Farshouthi, an official at the Saudi Chambers Federation, stated via his Twitter account that the old name is now prohibited for all restaurants, cafes, and coffee roasters. Last year, the Saudi Ministry of Culture announced the launch of an initiative to designate 2022 as "The Year of Saudi Coffee," as the Kingdom is ranked among the highest coffee-consuming countries in the world due to the high consumption rate per Saudi individual. The Kingdom is known for its rich and aromatic coffee, which has numerous health benefits, and serving coffee involves customs and traditions passed down through generations in all Arab societies, particularly within the Saudi community. The coffee-drinking ritual also includes agreed-upon signals indicating the pouring of another cup of coffee, with the act of shaking the cup being one of the gestures used in Arabic sign language.
