A video that has gone viral on social media in recent hours shows a Yemeni man from the Ibb Governorate descending into the depths of the Damt volcano in the city of Damt, which belongs to the Al-Dhale Governorate, south of the capital, Sana'a. In a breathtaking video, the young man dangles by his feet at the furthest point he can reach, running towards the abyss, until he stands at the closest point to the fire and begins to wave his hands triumphantly.
This video somewhat resembles scenes from professional climbing sports practiced on towering mountains; however, the difference is that the young Yemeni is performing his stunt without any safety equipment. The video has received mixed reactions, with some activists considering it a "brave adventure," while others harshly criticized the young man's actions, describing what he did as "madness" and a "risk that could have cost him his life."
