Title: Johnson: Electricity Bills May Drive Britons Mad

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated that "the coming months will be difficult for Britons, and electricity bills may drive them mad." In an article for the Daily Mail, Johnson wrote, "The next few months will be hard, possibly very hard. Electricity bills will be shocking for the public, and indeed, heating bills have become terrifying for many of us." The UK energy regulator Ofgem had previously announced an 80% increase in the cap on electricity bills allowed for consumers starting October 1 due to rising global energy prices. As a result, the maximum bill for Britons could rise by £1,578, or 80%. Previously, the cap was set at £1,971.
