Is There a Shortage of Food Supplies?

The head of the supermarket owners, Nabil Fahd, confirmed that "there is no change in the payment method, and the union's recommendation remains that 50% of the payment is made by card and 50% in cash." In an interview with MTV, he stated: "The money collected from supermarkets is, in itself, reserved; hence, the situation is difficult not only for the citizen but also for the supermarket owners. Therefore, the problem affects everyone and is a result we expect from the policy of monetization." He added: "There is no delay in the arrival of food supplies; however, the delays that occurred at the Port of Beirut have certainly impacted the situation, but we cannot say that there is a shortage of certain items."
