Kuwaiti media personality Mai Al-Eidan shared with her followers on social media a screenshot of a conversation between artist Basma Al-Kuwaiti and a journalist on WhatsApp, revealing Basma's reason for leaving Islam and converting to Judaism.
In the fragmented conversation, Basma responded to the journalist by saying, "Brother Ahmed, I have no statement other than that I have witnessed injustices that no one has seen in their life from my country and my family, and yes, I am convinced about changing my religion, and my goal is not citizenship. I tried to send a voice message but couldn't due to personal circumstances, thank you, Brother Ahmed." Mai Al-Eidan commented on this conversation, stating: "A WhatsApp message from the apostate Basma from America announcing that she has faced great injustice in Kuwait and that she is convinced of her conversion to Judaism... and I say if everyone who goes through tough circumstances changes their religion and runs away, no one would be oppressed in their country, and no one would remain on their religion."
Previously, Kuwaiti fashionista Rawan bin Hussein attacked artist Basma and advised her to pay attention to her appearance and clothing instead of going out looking "disheveled" in front of people, suggesting that she should comb her hair, noting that even Judaism cares about women's beauty. She added: "Convert to Judaism or Hinduism; no one is holding you back, but don't stir controversy in the name of Kuwait, as that is not allowed. I demand that the public prosecution and the Kuwaiti authorities take the necessary actions against her."
Social media platforms had previously circulated a video of artist Basma Al-Kuwaiti announcing her departure from Islam and her conversion to Judaism, where she appeared to be wearing home clothes and introduced herself, stating that she proudly announces her departure from Islam and her conversion to Judaism. In the video, she said: "I am Ibtisam Hamid, known as the singer Basma Al-Kuwaiti, I announce my departure from Islam because it is a religion of terrorism that despises women and oppresses and abuses them and does not grant them their full rights, and I proudly announce my conversion to Judaism."
