Exciting Quarterfinals Today: Egypt Faces Jordan and Morocco Faces Algeria

Arab audiences are eagerly awaiting the much-anticipated clash between Egypt and Jordan in the quarterfinals of the Arab Cup being held in Qatar. Today's matches feature two heavyweight encounters: the first is Egypt against Jordan, and the second pits Morocco against Algeria to determine the semifinalists along with Tunisia and Qatar, who have already advanced to this stage.

The match between Egypt and Jordan is set to kick off at 7 PM UAE time, while the second match between Algeria and Morocco will begin at 11 PM. The winner of the Egypt-Jordan match will face Tunisia, which qualified at the expense of Oman, while the Qatari team will play against the winner of the Algeria-Morocco match.

The Jordanian team is certainly looking to achieve one of the first surprises of the Arab Cup at the expense of their Egyptian counterpart, after advancing to the quarterfinals in second place in Group C, behind Morocco, with six points from two wins against Saudi Arabia (1-0) and Palestine (5-1). Meanwhile, the Egyptian team topped Group D on the basis of fair play over Algeria, accumulating seven points from two wins against Sudan (5-0) and Lebanon (1-0), along with a draw against Algeria (1-1).

The Egyptian team is expected to field a lineup including Mohammed El-Shenawy as goalkeeper, with defenders Ahmed Fattouh, Mahmoud El-Wansh, Ahmed Yassin, and Omar Kamal Abdel-Wahid. In midfield, Amr El-Sulaya, Hamdi Fathy, and Ahmed Sayed "Zizo" will play, while the attacking line consists of Mohamed Sherif, Marwan Hamdi, and Mostafa Fathi.

On the other hand, the Jordanian team is expected to start the match with Yazeed Abulili in goal, defended by Abdullah Nasib, Hadi Al-Horani, Ahmed Haikal, and Mohammad Abu Hashish. The midfield will feature Baha Abdul Rahman, Noor Al-Rawabdah, and Raji Ayed, with the forward line composed of Mahmoud Al-Mardi, Ali Alwan, and Hamza Al-Dardour.
