The General Directorate of General Security stated that "Lebanese passports of the '2003' model issued to Lebanese citizens are internationally recognized and have the same effects as biometric passports. They do not cause any issues for their holders, especially since they are machine-readable and fully comply with the standards and specifications of the International Civil Aviation Organization."
