The UAE national team secured a 4-0 victory against their Malaysian counterparts on Thursday evening at Zabeel Stadium in Dubai, as part of Group G matches in the joint Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup.
The second match in the same group ended in a 2-2 draw between Thailand and Indonesia at Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai. The next round of matches will take place next Monday, with the UAE facing Thailand and Vietnam playing Indonesia.
Vietnam, which did not play this round, leads the group with 11 points from 5 matches, while the UAE, Malaysia, and Thailand each have 9 points, and Indonesia has 1 point.
Additionally, the Qatari national team defeated the Indian team with a 1-0 score on Thursday evening at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Qatar, as part of Group E matches in the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup. The only goal for Qatar was scored by player Abdulaziz Hatem in the 33rd minute of the match.
