Member of the "Loyalty to the Resistance" Bloc, MP Hassan Fadlallah, stated that "the Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon represent a new escalation, which the group will respond to with new targeted strikes." He added in a statement sent to Reuters, "This escalation will not deter the resistance in Lebanon from continuing to defend their country and support Gaza." He noted that "the group is responding to the escalation with new targeted strikes, whether in the nature of the weapons or the targeted sites."
Fadlallah emphasized that "the border region is paying a blood price for all of Lebanon and is on the front line protecting the country and supporting the oppressed people in Gaza. Historically, it has been in the forefront of confronting the enemy's ambitions." He affirmed that "all Israeli threats will not affect the will of our resistant people, nor will they change a single letter in the resistance's work program in fulfilling its duty and mission. The enemy, unable to achieve any major goal from its aggression on Gaza, is even less capable of achieving what it dreams of on the Lebanese front."
He mentioned that Israel is increasing its public statements while searching for ways to mitigate the impact of the front in Lebanon on its choices regarding Gaza and the future of the conflict on the borders. However, he stressed that none of this would be beneficial, as Lebanon had defied its old schemes during the July War, and it has not been able to impose its plans on the southern region, especially south of the Litani River, which it sought to turn into a scorched area.
"Today, there is no way for it in Lebanon to achieve any of its goals; we have a strong resistance, a steadfast and enduring people, and courageous and wise leadership, with the ability to prevent the enemy and its supporters from implementing their plans directly or indirectly. The only solution available to them today is to stop their aggression on Gaza and realize the magnitude of the failure they have suffered, and the confusion of their leadership. No amount of massacres, destruction, or brutality will compensate for this."
During his visit to the site of the Israeli raid in the town of Ayta ash-Shab and his meeting with the locals, as well as participating in the funeral of martyr Hassan Sarour, he stated: "Our martyr fell in his town, and this is the promise of our martyrs and our people in this region, especially in Ayta, where we are martyred on the front lines of our land. We make the enemy taste the bitterness of our resistance and inflict material and moral losses on it. Its threats and aggressions, including those experienced by this town, will not deter the resistance from exercising its legitimate right to defend its country and support Gaza."
He added: "While the resistance is engaged in a fierce war, the enemy is trying to infiltrate by leaking the dreams of some deluded individuals about steps regarding the situation in the south, and its leaders are issuing threats. All of this will remain in the realm of illusion that the enemy and its echoes are drowning in with their wishes. Today, we face a significant failure of the occupation army on the ground both in Gaza and the south. It has been deeply wounded, and the abundance of their leaders' talk does not restore their prestige; rather, it is additional evidence of their transformation into a lying propaganda machine, exposed by the daily military realities. Therefore, instead of increasing their empty threats, they should resolve their military failures in Gaza or stop the panic of their army on our borders."
