Disaster in Arsal... Patient Dies at the Hospital Door

MP Melhem al-Hajiri pointed out that "the town of Arsal witnessed a disaster due to a significant number of its residents becoming victims of a horrific traffic accident that occurred in Wadi Ataa in Arsal, most of whom were from the same family." In a statement, he called on the Lebanese Minister of Health and the judiciary to "open a swift investigation and hold the management of al-Jaitaoui Hospital accountable for their refusal to admit the injured Diyab Mohammed Ghaddah, who suffered severe burns as a result of the accident, under the pretext of a lack of a medical bed, which led to his death after waiting at the hospital door without even being admitted to the emergency department." Al-Hajiri considered that "this irresponsible behavior, stripped of the simplest humanitarian duties and moral responsibility, necessitates pursuing those who are careless about people's lives, as an injured person breathed his last without receiving help from the hospital staff or any attempt to save his life." He extended his heartfelt condolences to the Al-Fleiti family and the people of Arsal for this disaster that has befallen them, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
