With the first 10 days of the blessed month of Ramadan passing, healthy habits remain a focal point for those fasting. Lebanese nutritionist Carla Habib Murad emphasized that yogurt is the best drink during this holy month. She added in a video posted on Instagram that yogurt contains all the necessary minerals, making it the best drink ever and without competition.
She also mentioned the importance of consuming two pieces of dates to ensure a balance in blood sugar levels. Science has shown that breaking fast with dates is one of the healthy habits recommended after long hours of fasting because they are rich in fiber, potassium, and other nutrients that the body often lacks during the day. Dates are also easy to digest, providing a feeling of energy and fullness just a few minutes after consumption.
It is noted that one of the key rules for comfortable fasting is to avoid consuming sugars and instead replace them with fresh fruits that contain nutritional elements to combat thirst. Additionally, it's essential to include fresh vegetables at the iftar and suhoor tables, as they contain fibers that help prevent thirst by staying in the stomach for a long time.
