Smart Technologies and More: Details About the First Digital Bank in the UAE

Al Maryah Local Bank, the first integrated digital bank in the UAE, has announced the formation of its founding committee, chaired by His Excellency Tariq Ahmed Al Masood. According to "WAM," the committee members are Emirati businessmen with diverse expertise that will assist the bank in achieving its goal of becoming a leading financial services provider in the country. The bank also aims to support the local community by empowering and training employees and delivering competitive returns to shareholders.

The newly formed founding committee includes Ahmad Shaiba Al Amimi, Ahmad Jaber Al Suwaidi, Khalid Thani Al Rumithi, Majid Ateeq Al Mehairi, Murshid Thani Murshid Al Rumithi, Omar Abdullah Al Zaabi, Imran Mohammed Al Khouri, Saeed Abdullah Al Mehairi, and Younis Fatah Ali Al Khaja. Tariq Al Masood emphasized the commitment to working towards a shared vision of building one of the most successful digital banks in this sector.

Al Maryah Local Bank aims to be the first choice in the UAE, focusing on supporting individuals and small businesses. The founding committee will provide support, guidance, and oversight for business development and team management to launch the bank as envisioned.

Al Masood stated, "The members of the founding committee possess diverse expertise across various sectors of the local economy to enrich decision-making in the board of directors, in addition to each member contributing to the optimal goal of providing a bank that serves the Emirati community by earning customer trust and employee loyalty, and by working with integrity and sincerity while utilizing innovative smart technologies."

The formation of the founding committee comes after the bank announced last week that it had obtained a license from the Central Bank of the UAE, making Al Maryah Local Bank the first specialized digital bank in the country.
