Sputnik reported that Israeli warplanes launched several airstrikes on the Gaza Strip after midnight, targeting various sites belonging to Palestinian factions. The site added, "Israeli warplanes launched several missiles at the 'Salah al-Din' site affiliated with the Al-Qassam Brigades in the Al-Nuseirat camp in central Gaza, and also bombed an observation post belonging to armed Palestinian factions in the Juhor ad-Dik area southeast of Gaza City, as well as an observation post belonging to the field control apparatus of the Gaza government’s security forces." The Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip did not report any casualties among the Palestinians as a result of the Israeli missile strikes.
In a related context, Israeli media sites stated that the Israeli army began responding to gunfire directed at the Gaza Strip, following the launching of a missile earlier in the day towards Israeli territory. A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed earlier Thursday evening in areas adjacent to the besieged territory, while alarm sirens were heard in settlements near the northern regions of the strip. Sirens were activated surrounding the Gaza Strip, and Avichai Adraee, the spokesperson for the Israeli army, stated in a message, "Initially: Sirens sounded in the city of Sderot in the Gaza Envelope." Adraee continued, saying that "following reports about sirens in the Sderot area and the Gaza Envelope, it was confirmed that a rocket was launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli territory." Israeli channel "Kan" reported that "the sound of sirens came after a rocket was fired from the northern areas of the Gaza Strip, which landed in an open area on the Israeli side." It noted that the rocket did not result in "injuries, fatalities, or material damage."
