His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has donated an amount of 20 million riyals for charitable and non-profit activities through the Ehsan Platform, which was recently launched as a comprehensive technological gateway that contributes to the governance and management of donations and their sustainability, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, head of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for this generous donation, which affirms the leadership's interest in addressing citizens' needs and providing support and spending in avenues of good as a steadfast approach and an example to follow.
Al-Ghamdi also extended his thanks to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), for the significant support and direct attention that the Ehsan Platform has received from him, as an extension of his commitment to supporting charitable work, developing the non-profit sector, and enhancing its efficiency and reliability in performance and supporting humanitarian initiatives for the service of the people of Saudi Arabia.
He emphasized that the Kingdom has long held a leading global position in the field of charitable work, noting that its interest in this field dates back to the time of the founding King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, continuing to the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and his Crown Prince, during which charitable work has undergone significant developmental steps, making donations easily and quickly reach those who deserve them through the Ehsan Platform. This platform represents an additional step through which the state seeks to enhance digital transformation in the field of charitable and non-profit work and in all other fields.
It is noteworthy that the Ehsan Platform works on leveraging data and artificial intelligence to maximize the impact of development projects and services and ensure their sustainability by providing advanced technical solutions and building an effective system through partnerships with governmental, private, and non-profit sectors, aiming to enhance the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's pioneering role in development and charitable work.
The work of the Ehsan Platform is overseen by an oversight committee that includes, in addition to the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health, Saudi Central Bank, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Presidency of State Security, and the Digital Government Authority.
