Lebanon's Bread Industry Syndicate President Antoine Saif pointed out that "wheat is available in some mills, but they cannot grind it due to the government's failure to pay for it." He added in an interview with "Voice of Lebanon" radio that "the Minister of Economy and Trade Amin Salam made a decision 10 days ago to lift the subsidy on flour, except for that allocated for Arabic bread," noting that "the wheat from the ships has not been distributed to the mills, and there is a loan from the International Monetary Fund designated for purchasing wheat, and it is the responsibility of officials to find a solution and establish mechanisms until this loan is approved."
