The U.S. House of Representatives voted on an unprecedented aid package for Ukraine worth nearly $40 billion. Last week, U.S. President Joe Biden announced the country's intention to provide additional funds to the authorities in Kyiv, noting that the funds previously allocated by Congress for such assistance were running low, and urged lawmakers to "immediately" approve the request his administration sent earlier for an additional $33 billion for Ukraine. Before that, major U.S. media reported that as a result of discussions, congressional leaders reached an agreement to allocate $39.8 billion in aid to Ukraine, which is about $7 billion more than the amount requested by the president. According to available information, the expanded package includes an additional $3.4 billion for military assistance and the same amount for humanitarian aid.
