Egyptian security forces have uncovered the circumstances surrounding the poisoning of an infant in Qena Governorate, who was taken to the hospital in a state of complete coma. A hospital in southern Egypt received a one-year-old infant suffering from poisoning and in a comatose state, where he was provided with initial medical care until he regained consciousness.
Medical tests revealed that the infant accidentally ingested opium, which was found in front of him, leading him to consume it without understanding what it was. Authorities arrested the child's father and are interrogating him to determine how the piece of opium came to be in the presence of the infant. The public prosecutor has been notified to take over the investigations.
