A young man in China successfully saved a baby who fell from his mother's arms between a subway train and the station platform in Wuhan, Hubei Province, as reported by CCTV. Video footage from the station's surveillance cameras shows the infant falling from his mother's grasp while she attempted to board the train. She was unable to retrieve him with the help of other passengers due to the crowd at the station.
The young man intervened to return the child to her. The South China Morning Post reported that a train station police officer notified authorities that the train needed to stop to allow them to rescue the baby. The train came to a halt, and passengers gathered beside the train car adjacent to where the baby had fallen. The young man then climbed into the narrow space to retrieve the child.
After successfully rescuing the baby, the young man explained that he acted out of a sense of humanity, noting that the child had fallen under the train, and the mother, along with other passengers, were unable to save him.
