Tunisian President Kais Saied affirmed that Tunisia has the capabilities to be a democracy, emphasizing his commitment to building a state and society based on law.
A statement from the Tunisian presidency indicated that President Saied received the ambassadors of EU member states accredited to Tunisia today, where several issues were discussed, including the strategy for cooperation with the European Union, bilateral relations with member states, and ways to enhance economic and financial cooperation between both sides in various fields, as well as external issues of mutual interest. Saied stated that political instability is unrelated to governmental instability, noting that Tunisia has steadfast principles in foreign policy, and reiterated his adherence to the constitution.
The Tunisian president emphasized that combating corruption, recovering stolen funds abroad, providing the COVID-19 vaccine, and completing major projects are priorities. He clarified that Tunisian women play a significant and important role in various fields, along with civil society, which he considers the real driver of political life, highlighting the crucial role of youth in the success of the revolution, and stated that freedom is the fundamental pillar that cannot be disregarded.
The Tunisian president renewed the importance of solidarity among nations to address not only the COVID-19 pandemic but also to solve all existing problems, expressing his belief that such solidarity can lead to achieving many accomplishments together.
