Lebanese media personality Faten Moussa revealed through an official statement that she learned about her divorce from her husband, artist Mostafa Fahmy, via social media, stating that the separation occurred in absentia. Moussa wrote on her Instagram page that she received the news of her divorce in absentia from her husband through lawyer Sana'a Lahji last night, after some evasive maneuvers. She was surprised by the news, just like the audience and the media scene that evening.
The media personality shared that she had traveled to her home country of Lebanon to attend her sister Mona's engagement party, where she and her sister shared videos and photos from the celebration in Beirut. Her brother Anwar accompanied them, who was also present at their marital home in Cairo. It was expected that her husband, artist Mostafa Fahmy, would join them after they had booked tickets and made travel arrangements. However, he canceled at the last moment due to recent events in Beirut, as he was tied to work circumstances and feared for the escalating security situation.
Moussa denied any conflicts between them, stating: "There were no significant disagreements or problems between us." She confirmed that she learned about her divorce through her lawyer and social media, without any prior notification, agreement, or details regarding the divorce or her rights. Additionally, she was not given a timeframe to gather her belongings and rights, and she was unaware she would be traveling to attend her sister's engagement to be shocked by this news. She added that she had not been officially informed of the divorce to this moment, following their marriage that lasted about six years.
She affirmed that the statements and news circulating since last night regarding the divorce occurring quietly between both parties are not true and entirely inaccurate, as she only became aware of her absentee divorce through her lawyer and social media, as previously mentioned. She declared that her husband, artist Mostafa Fahmy, did not inform her of the divorce and has not responded to her calls on his personal mobile phone to clarify the matter.
Lawyer Sana'a Hafzi, representing Mostafa Fahmy, confirmed the news of the separation in a phone call to the program "ET بالعربي." She explained that Fahmy completely refuses to discuss the reasons for the separation, and he did not disclose them even to the law firm managing his legal matters. Hafzi pointed out that despite the divorce, both parties hold a full respect and appreciation for each other and will not allow anyone to disparage them.
Moreover, Fahmy's lawyer stated that she personally knows Faten Moussa and can attest to her being a respectable and deserving person. The divorce occurred without problems or crises, and they will remain friends despite their separation, with Fahmy ensuring he will provide his wife with all her financial rights.
Egyptian artist Mostafa Fahmy married Lebanese media personality Faten Moussa in 2015. In December 2017, they celebrated their wedding again in Lebanon, expressing their joy and love for one another.
