Saudi Arabia Reveals Hajj Transportation Procedures

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has defined the transportation arrangements for pilgrims for this year's Hajj season by designating gathering points for the arrival phase at various locations including Al-Zaydi, Al-Nawariyah, Al-Shara'ee, Al-Nasīm, and drop-off centers at the Sacred Mosque, specifically at Al-Shubaykah, King Abdulaziz Endowment, and Ajyad Al-Masafi, with at least 200 buses allocated for performing the Tawaf of arrival.

The Tawaf of arrival phase will facilitate the transportation of pilgrims in two stages using a shuttle service from the gathering centers to the Sacred Mosque, transporting 6,000 pilgrims every three hours starting from 6 AM on the 7th of Dhu al-Hijjah until 9 AM on the 8th. There will be an average dispatch of 2,000 pilgrims from each gathering point every three hours (excluding Al-Nasīm Station), with a daily operational capacity of 48,000 pilgrims during the arrival phase.

All pilgrims will depart from the Grand Mosque via buses from (Bab Ali Station) to the Jamarat parking areas, utilizing a shuttle service with a minimum of 200 buses, averaging 2,000 pilgrims every three hours from the Jamarat area (with the parking yard divided by colored zones) to Mina according to the designated color.

On the day of the ascent to Arafat (9th of Dhu al-Hijjah), transportation will follow a system with 1,500 buses, accompanied by a designated leader from the Pilgrims Service Company for every operational unit (20 pilgrims), departing from each specified gathering point of the Mina encampments to Arafat according to assigned colors, with drop-off in the designated area for each zone based on the encampments in Arafat.

The procedures also outline the departure to Muzdalifah starting from 7:15 PM until midnight with transportation using 1,500 buses, accompanied by a designated leader for each unit (20 pilgrims), departing from the designated gathering points of the Arafat encampments to Muzdalifah based on their assigned colors.

The disbursement phase to Mina will also utilize 1,500 buses following the same leader system (20 pilgrims). For the transport of pilgrims performing the Tawaf of disbursement on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah, two methods have been established for transporting pilgrims: the first method involves traveling from the Jamarat parking area to Ajyad Al-Masafi, Bab Ali, and King Abdulaziz Endowment, then returning to the same stations and proceeding to Jamarat parking (for those coming from Bab Ali Station) or to King Khalid Bridge and King Abdullah Road (for those coming from Ajyad and King Abdulaziz Endowment) near the Mina encampments in the designated drop-off areas according to the allocation for the Mina encampments.

The second method involves transporting pilgrims from the Jamarat parking area to the Ajyad, Al-Shubaykah, and King Abdulaziz Endowment stations and exiting from Bab Ali Station using a shuttle service back to the Jamarat parking area to the designated boarding and loading area from the Jamarat Bridge parking to the encampments, as per the location in Okaz.

The farewell Tawaf phase will commence on the 12th of Dhu al-Hijjah, where pilgrims will be transported from Jamarat parking to Al-Shubaykah, Ajyad Al-Masafi, and King Abdulaziz Endowment, returning from the same stations. After completing the farewell Tawaf, all pilgrims will depart from the Grand Mosque, with buses leaving from the Al-Shubaykah, Ajyad Al-Masafi, and King Abdulaziz Endowment stations to the gathering points in Al-Shara'ee, Al-Nawariyah, Al-Zaydi, and Al-Nasīm.
