The United Nations Special Coordinator in Lebanon, Joanna Frontska, tweeted: "I congratulate Lebanon on holding parliamentary elections on time as an initial response to the aspirations of the Lebanese people. Many challenges still remain, foremost among them restoring citizens' trust in state institutions. Lebanon deserves a better future, and the United Nations will continue to be ready to assist."
