The fat that accumulates near the body's internal organs, such as the liver, pancreas, and intestines, is extremely dangerous, and its accumulation causes significant complications. The accumulation of "visceral" fat is a contributing factor to several diseases, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease. According to experts at the well-known health food organization "Holland & Barrett," caffeine can help burn visceral belly fat quickly.
The organization cited a study published in the American Journal of Nutrition, which investigated caffeine and its effects on the metabolic rates of individuals with normal weight and those who are obese. Participants with normal weight were given coffee containing 8 milligrams of caffeine per kilogram of body weight, and researchers noted that the "metabolic rate," or the burning of calories and converting them into energy, significantly increased during the three hours following caffeine consumption.
Those who are obese were given coffee with a caffeine content of 4 milligrams per kilogram of body weight. Researchers also observed an increase in the "metabolic rate," as reported by the British newspaper "Express." In another study published on "Research Gate," conducted on Japanese individuals with high levels of visceral fat, participants were given either coffee or a "placebo" daily over 12 weeks, and it was found that changes in the abdominal area and waist circumference were greater among those who consumed coffee.
