Iran: We Are Ready for Positive Cooperation with the Signatory Countries of the Nuclear Agreement

Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei welcomed Washington's delayed steps, viewing them as a move in the right direction but stating they are insufficient.

According to Al Jazeera, the Iranian government spokesman expressed his country's ongoing readiness for positive and constructive cooperation with the signatory countries of the nuclear agreement. Rabiei expected Washington to adhere to UN Resolution 2231 and not limit itself to expressing positions, considering that the agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reflects Tehran's good intentions and enhances trust and cooperation.

Regarding the Iranian funds frozen in Japan, Rabiei stated, "There are understandings between Tehran, Seoul, and Tokyo for the release of Iran's frozen funds." The Russian Foreign Ministry welcomed the temporary agreement between Iran and the United Nations' IAEA. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova expressed Moscow's approval of Tehran reaching a temporary agreement regarding inspections of its facilities following a visit from the IAEA director to Iran.

Meanwhile, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei confirmed yesterday that the Islamic Republic does not seek to possess nuclear weapons, describing it as contrary to Islamic principles. In a statement on his website yesterday, he emphasized that Iran does not pursue nuclear weapons, noting that this stance is based on Islamic foundations and commands that prohibit weapons used to kill ordinary people.
