Indian Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu endured a difficult period after experiencing a widespread bullying campaign on social media due to her weight gain. Sandhu spoke about the experience, stating in an interview with People magazine: "I was bullied because of my weight gain. It was disturbing, and I was shocked by the world's reaction to this issue. It's not about a person's appearance, but about their inner qualities and how they treat others." Sandhu admitted that she has broken down in tears many times due to the hurtful comments she read. She clarified what happened to her by explaining that she followed a strict diet and exercised extensively during the competition period to win: "After my victory, I had about a month to relax. During that time, I didn't exercise. I only ate and enjoyed my time with my family. I didn't realize that it would show on me." She continued: "None of us are perfect. We need to understand that at some point we must accept our flaws, and then we will be able to overcome all our problems." By sharing her experience, Sandhu hopes to help others accept the changes that may occur in their bodies.
