National Oil Corporation in Libya Reduces Production by 200,000 Barrels Daily

The National Oil Corporation in Libya has announced that the Waha Oil Company will reduce its oil production by approximately 200,000 barrels per day starting today, Sunday, January 17, 2021.

According to a statement issued by the corporation, this reduction is necessary to commence essential maintenance operations on the main crude oil pumping line connecting the Samah and Dhahra fields to the Sidra port, which has become unserviceable due to leaks and deterioration. This situation has arisen due to the absence of budgets that ensure the safety of the corporation's assets, a concern that has been expressed on several occasions. The corporation stated that to minimize the downtime, maintenance teams have been prepared to carry out this work continuously, and it is expected that these operations will last for two weeks.
