Murder and Suicide in a Village in Egypt

A heinous crime occurred in an Egyptian village, where a young man killed his wife and then threw himself from the second floor. According to details, the residents of Kafr Al-Jinayna village in the Nabroh Center of Dakahlia governorate were shocked on Tuesday evening when a young man was heard screaming from his balcony, saying he had slaughtered his wife and then jumped, injuring himself with severe fractures.

A security force later arrived at the scene and found 22-year-old Mariam Mohamed Abdelghani, a university student, murdered with her head severed from her body. When her husband, Ahmed El-Sabbahi, 28, was questioned at the hospital about what happened, he admitted to killing his wife due to ongoing disputes between them, as well as another reason he did not disclose.

Investigations and neighbor testimonies revealed that numerous arguments had erupted between the couple recently, with Ahmed threatening his wife loudly that he would kill her. Additionally, police investigations and resident statements indicated that the husband was using drugs, and his wife had been severely reprimanding him for spending money on narcotics, urging him to stop and seek treatment.

The prosecution has ordered the husband to be detained in the hospital pending his recovery and a drug test, while the police are intensifying their investigations to determine all circumstances surrounding the incident.
