Support for Contracted Professors' Demands by the Educational Office of the Popular Nasserist Organization

The Educational Office of the Popular Nasserist Organization has expressed its support for the demands of contracted professors, as well as their decision to continue the strike in response to the authorities' long-standing policy of procrastination, delay, and false promises.

According to a statement from the Educational Office reported by the National News Agency, the issue of contracted professors at the Lebanese University remains dynamic and significant. The statement emphasized that the plight of the contracted professors has become an open battle against anyone opposing their legitimate rights to secure a stable life through the regularization of their positions, alongside the integration of permanent professors into the faculty.

The statement backed the demands of contracted professors and their decision to continue striking against the authority's persistent procrastination and false promises over many years. The Educational Office noted that the approach towards the Lebanese University professors is reckless and unworthy of its academics, highlighting the deliberate injustice in its budget and rights, which aims at undermining the academic and logistical framework and emptying it of its pioneering content with capable students who have proven their merit across various fields, representing a substantial demographic of the poor and working class.

The Educational Office called for returning the file to the presidency of the university for prompt approval, to safeguard the university of the nation and the future of the students. It urged the president of the Lebanese University and relevant officials in the Ministry of Education to resolve this dilemma. The statement also honored the professors who continue to strike in their fight for dignity until they receive their legitimate rights, similar to those of permanent faculty. The office called on the association of permanent professors at the university to adopt the demands of contracted professors and support their movements.
