A statement from the office of the Minister of National Defense, Maurice Slim, stated: "There are discussions about a decision issued by the Minister of National Defense to stop the implementation of his decision to suspend the effect of weapons carry licenses. This decision is forged and has no basis in reality, and the decision of the Minister of National Defense issued on May 6 of this year regarding the suspension of weapons carry licenses throughout Lebanese territory remains in effect until further notice."
