The UN Human Rights Commission stated that findings showed that Palestinian American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was killed by a bullet fired from the direction of Israeli forces, according to AFP. The spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights said on Friday that the commission concluded that the Palestinian American journalist was killed on May 11 by fire from Israeli forces. Ravina Shamdasani mentioned in a press conference in Geneva on Friday: "All the information we have gathered, including from the Israeli army and the Palestinian public prosecutor, confirms the fact that the shots that killed Abu Akleh and injured her colleague Ali Samoudi came from Israeli security forces and were not random shots fired by armed Palestinians as Israeli authorities initially claimed."
