Signs in Your Eyes That May Indicate Diabetes

Experts say that the human eye can reveal a lot about one’s health, including the possibility of diabetes, and emphasize the need to pay attention to any changes that may occur. Diabetes results from elevated glucose (or sugar) levels in the blood. Those affected experience a lack of insulin, leading to the accumulation of glucose in the bloodstream, which can rise to dangerous levels.

According to the British newspaper "The Sun," there are several signs in the eyes that may indicate you are suffering from diabetes or, at the very least, that you need to speak with your doctor. Among these signs, the newspaper mentions double or blurred vision, seeing sparkling lights, or perceiving empty or dark spots.

Additionally, a potential diabetes patient may feel pain when pressing on one or both eyes. Increased pressure within the eye could also be a sign of diabetes, so experts recommend consulting your doctor urgently. "The Sun" also noted that a person experiencing blood sugar instability often needs to change their glasses from time to time, which is another sign to be aware of.
