More Than 40 Fraudulent Thefts Executed: Have You Been a Victim?

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces released the following statement: As part of the daily monitoring carried out by the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces to combat fraud and deception operations, information was gathered about an unknown individual conducting numerous fraudulent acts by convincing victims that he would provide them with financial assistance and food supplies. He would persuade them to get into the vehicle used for these operations and then steal their money in a deceptive manner.

In response, the branch intensified its inquiries to uncover his identity. As a result of investigations, they were able to identify him as: A. Sh. (born in 1965, Lebanese) who has a history of previous offenses for fraudulent theft and was released about a year ago. Orders were given to locate and apprehend him.

On May 22, 2022, one of the branch patrols managed to arrest him in the Dahyeh area while he was in a blue Honda Accord, which he used to carry out his operations. During the investigation, he confessed that after his release, he committed over 40 fraudulent thefts using several vehicles that he frequently changed to avoid suspicion and conceal his identity, in various areas of Mount Lebanon, Beirut, the south, and Nabatiyeh, including: Dahyeh, Ain Dlibah, Shiyah, Arumn, Ghobeiry, Sour, Maamoura, Sidon, Mansourieh, Bayseriah, Bent Jbeil, Nabatiyeh, Aqabiya, Ghazieh, Ouzai, Abra, Sidqin, Qana, Abbassiyeh, Tibnin, Harouf, Sarafand, Ashrafieh, Bourj Al-Ghnaim, Tariq Al-Jdeideh, Basta, and the River.

Therefore, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary, the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces circulates his picture and requests that those who have fallen victim to his actions come to the Judicial Department in the Police Judiciary Unit located in Ouzai – Martyr Mustafa Ali Hasan Barracks, or contact one of the following numbers: 451162-01 or 453143-01, in preparation for necessary legal actions.
