Melhem Riachi, the Lebanese Forces candidate for the Catholic seat in the Northern Metn, met with a crowd of Lebanese expatriates in Saudi Arabia - Riyadh, at the home of Fadi Qassouf. In his speech, he emphasized "the importance of restoring Lebanese relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as it represents a fundamental factor in the required strategic balance, which is embodied by the Kingdom and the group of ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council in favor of Lebanon." He affirmed that "this step in itself is an achievement for the Lebanese, both residents and expatriates, with the hope of enhancing these relations and establishing patriarchal neutrality, which constitutes the lifeline and the essential entry point for protecting Lebanon, its people, and the interests of this people." He concluded: "I am a candidate for the Lebanese Forces and I represent my people in Metn for the Catholic seat, not only for the Catholic community, but also for the Maronites, the Greeks, the Sunnis, the Shiites, and the atheists, and for all who believe that doctrines are meant for life, not death," stressing the "necessity for us to unite to save Lebanon, and only patriarchal neutrality, and nothing else, can save Lebanon."
