The White House announced that President Joe Biden will hold his first virtual meeting with G7 leaders on Friday.
The White House revealed the key issues that the American president will discuss, which will revolve around ways to combat the coronavirus, the global economy, and the group's dealings with China. The statement from the White House noted, "This virtual meeting with the leaders of the world's leading democratic market economies will be an opportunity for President Biden to discuss plans to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic and rebuild the global economy."
The statement added, "President Biden will also discuss the need to inject investments to enhance our collective competitive capabilities and the importance of updating global rules to address economic challenges such as those posed by China."
This will be the first G7 meeting during Biden's presidency, and the first meeting among allies since April.
