Lebanon Loses to Iran in the FIBA Asia Under-16 Basketball Championship

The Lebanon men's national basketball team (Under-16) suffered its first loss in the Asia Championship against Iran, with a score of 56-73, in a match held this evening at the end of the first round in Group B of the tournament taking place at the Al-Gharafa Sports Club in Doha, Qatar. Despite the loss, Lebanon secured its advancement to the second round by finishing second in its group. The top scorer for the Lebanese team was Rayan Hashem with 14 points. Lebanon will play an important match on Thursday at 8:15 PM Beirut time against the Qatari team in the second round, where the winner will qualify for the quarter-finals. It is noteworthy that the Asia Championship serves as a qualifier for the World Championship, which will be held in Málaga, Spain, from July 2 to 10 next year, as the four teams that qualify for the semi-finals of the continental tournament will participate in the World Championship alongside teams from all continents.
