NASA's Ingenuity helicopter is preparing for its 11th flight on the surface of Mars, having recently captured images of an area known as "Raised Ridges". The helicopter documented photos of hills that have been widely circulated in the media, which may have resulted from winds, dust, or possibly water that once flowed in the Jezero crater, during its flight on July 24, according to the space agency. Kevin Hand, a scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, stated: "But alongside its overwhelming beauty, the image provides fantastic detail. If you look closely, you can see some strange lines across the surfaces of many rocks. Are these just streaks of wind and dust blowing across the rocks, or do these features tell a story of water? We just don't know yet." Thanks to Ingenuity, NASA has effectively been able to be in "two places at once" through the Perseverance mission, both at the Crater Floor Fractured Rough and with Ingenuity flying nearby. Hand added, "Ingenuity provides a detailed preview of interesting geological features hundreds of meters away from us."
