Biden Thanks UAE for Evacuation Efforts in Afghanistan

US President Joe Biden thanked the United Arab Emirates on Sunday for its extensive efforts in the evacuation of diplomats and American citizens from Afghanistan. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received a phone call on Saturday evening from President Biden, during which he expressed his gratitude for the support and facilitation the UAE provided in the evacuation operations, including for nationals of friendly countries and Afghans holding visas from these countries.

The US President stated, "We highly appreciate the UAE's humanitarian efforts to facilitate the safe passage of American citizens, embassy staff, and foreigners evacuated from Kabul to third countries." He added, "This stance embodies the strong and enduring partnership between the UAE and the United States."

Additionally, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and President Biden exchanged views on several issues and developments concerning regional and international topics of mutual interest, emphasizing the importance of working together to address these challenges.
