The head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, met in Maarab with deputies Wael Abu Faour and Akram Shehayeb, who were sent by the head of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, in the presence of MP Ziad Hawwat. After the meeting, Geagea stated, "We have agreed on a unified approach with the 'Socialist' for forming the government, and the opposition must unify its efforts to stop the plans of the authority." He pointed out that the delay in forming the government is not due to the visit of mediator Amos Hochstein or the formation of committees, but rather because some are trying to seize control of the government to benefit from appointments before the end of the term and to consolidate their positions. Geagea concluded, "There is only one way out for us, which is for the opposition to coordinate with each other, and we will leave the name of the Prime Minister for the meeting of the 'Strong Republic' bloc."
