Bassem Badran, the president of the Lebanese University, indicated that "there is an upcoming academic year, and the state needs to quickly secure funds for a number of decrees that have been issued to provide the minimum for faculty to complete the academic year." He confirmed in a statement to "Voice of Lebanon" that "the university will not close its doors, and there will be a meeting with donors soon," pointing out that "the state needs to be convinced that the university can be a consultant for all ministries." Badran added that "the professional reputation of the Lebanese University is at its highest ranks... there are no scandals in the entrance exams for all faculties. I am the one who called for the restoration of the University Council's powers, and it still maintains the required standard thanks to the proficiency of its faculty, and its degree allows all students to engage abroad."
